Bill Paulus serves as associate vice president for Facilities Management at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, providing strategic direction and operational oversight for a department of 1,400 staff delivering facilities, grounds and utilities services across a 25‑million‑square‑foot, 1,200‑acre campus. His portfolio includes Maintenance, Custodial, Energy Management, Sustainability, UConstruction, Landcare and Waste Recovery Services, all supporting a safe, reliable and welcoming campus environment. 

Bill joined the University in 2006 and has served as FM AVP since 2016. Previously, he spent 14 years with Honeywell in industrial manufacturing and aerospace operations, and four years at the DOE Savannah River Site supporting startup of a high‑level radioactive waste facility.

He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton, is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and is passionate about process improvement.
