Project Initiation Process

A project is the manifestation and implementation of a change. The Project Initiation Process ensures a successful project start-up to achieve the project objectives. The Project Sponsor or Project Initiator should submit the project idea by completing the Project Intake Form. Projects requiring PMO support as well as operational projects (projects run within a business unit) can be submitted, triaged, reviewed, and tracked with this updated process.

A PMO member will reach out to the submitter for more details on the project request and/or to develop the preliminary project charter along with the estimated timeline using a thorough vetting process to clarify the urgency of the objectives. If and when the project is prioritized, the project will become active and move into the define phase.  Click here to access the PMO Project Intake and Review Process.
